The Ozren Monastery, which is located seven kilometers south of Petrovo and dates from the second half of the 16th century, is, according to folklore, the endowment of the famous Nemanjić family. In this monastery there are relics, the right hand of the Great Martyr of the Blessed Marina and fragments of the relics of the Holy Prince Lazar and Stefan of Decani.
There are three fountains near the Ozren monastery, and the unusual decoration of this monastery are roses, of which there are about two thousands. In 2003, the monastery was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We recommend coming for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 28) when the monastery organizes a great people’s assembly where thousands of people gather to pray, dance and sing here.

Did you know that you don’t have to go to Pisa to see the wrong tower? It is enough to visit the nearby town of Gračanica, where since the time of its construction it has stood proudly leaning to one side of the Clock Tower.
The tower was built in the second half of the 17th century from stone, covered with a tent roof, with a clock and a bell. With a height of 27 m, the Clock Tower is the second tallest tower in BiH, which contributed to it becoming a national monument of BiH in 2003.
If you go to the nearby town of Gracanica, we definitely recommend you to visit the house of Mara Popović, listed as a national monument of BiH. Built in 1840. by her father-in-law, the house represents the traditional look of a Bosnian house, the so-called verandas or storeys.
The house was recently renovated and is currently used by the Association of Citizens “Gračaničko keranje” for the purpose of preserving the tradition and presentation of keranje (a special way of making lace with a needle and thread) as an ancient artistic skill of women in the cities of Bosnia.
You should also include Eagle Lake as a mandatory rest stop during summer walks and cycling activities. This lake is only a few kilometers away from Petrovo, following the canyon of the most beautiful Ozren river Jadrina along the asphalt road. Eagle Lake is the size of a larger pool and is located at 300 m above sea level.
It is filled from a nearby mountain spring, from an absolutely clean and ecologically untouched hinterland, with fresh, drinkable and magnesium-rich mineral water, which is constantly overflowing.
Goransko Lake is another lake that you can visit during your stay at Terme Ozren. It is an artificial lake located on the mountain Ozren about seven kilometers southeast of Doboj. It was built a small holiday complex consisting of a small river, a promenade – an educational trail leading to Preslica, a restaurant, parking, a playground for children, arranged places for barbecue and a mini camp for a tent settlement around it.
The lake which is located at an altitude of 190 meters, is 200 meters long, 50 meters wide, with an average depth of about 5 meters. Entrance to the complex is charged 2.5 €.
For all fans of mountain biking, Terme Ozren is the right place to stay, because the surroundings of Ozren abound in a network of paved and macadam roads, forest crevice, trails and clearings suitable for creating unforgettable cycling routes.

For those who have a sports spirit, there is also the “Ozren Mountain Marathon”, which has been held on the first weekend of June since 2005 and gathers hundreds of mountaineers and marathoners from BiH, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Sweden and other countries.
Competitors have at their disposal nine marathon tracks, length from 3.3 for the youngest, to 101 kilometers for one of the most experienced ultramarathoners.
The event lasts for three days, and is preceded by a competition in the preparation of the “Ozren Golden Cauldron”, which you must not miss.

Do you like extreme sports? Then you will probably be thrilled when you hear that there are two arranged airfields on Ozren: a platform for more experienced flyers on Gostilj, as well as three arranged airfields on the Ruj elevation.
Ozren has an exceptional potential for paragliding, especially in spring and summer when the thermal currents leading to the cloud base reach a height of over 2500 m, which allows sailing that often lasts several hours, with a flight length of tens of kilometers.
For all those who have not had the opportunity to experience this type of entertainment, the local paragliding club “ParaGhost” regularly organizes a two-day paragliding course for beginners. There is, of course, also a tandem flight that requires no prior knowledge: it is up to you to indulge in skillful pilot control and enjoy.
The fallow deer farm is an ideal opportunity to fully experience all the grace and carelessness of this beautiful animal. The complex, located at 550 meters above sea level on Ozren, has about forty deers, hinds and young.
If you decide to visit complexes, you will be able to observe, photograph and feed deer with installed observation posts, as well as learn more about their way of life in nature.
If you are adventurous, we definitely recommend you to visit the Maiden’s Cave. This cave, 115 meters long, is located on an asphalt road 15 kilometers from Doboj, in Stanovi. The ceiling, which is intermittent along the entire length of the cave, enables the lighting of the cave, and also gives it a romantic note. The river Grmuša also flows through the cave.
There is a legend connected with the name of the cave. In the time of the Turks, it was first called Hajdučka pećina and there was a small church hidden there, which was set on fire by the Turks by the betrayal of some locals. The girl who took care of the church jumped from the cave, and wrote on the wall that she did it because of the shame that the church was set on fire. After that event, the cave got its current name.
